Obituary:
The President, Prof Vivienne Japha, elected in August 1998
was officially inaugurated at ArchAfrica98, held in Durban
in October that year. She held office only briefly to 26
June 1999, when she was tragically killed in a road accident
while attending the UIA World Congress in Beijing. Vice-President
Llewellyn van Wyk was subsequently elected President for
the remainder of the term, with Jan Ras as Vice-President.
