Following cancellation of the CAA IAB Conference 'Society, Architects and Emerging Issues' and the P2P (Projects to Partner) Forum due to take place in Dhaka, Bangladesh in March 2007 the 18th General Assembly (with Council meetings before and after), was held on the 17-18 April 2007 immediately prior to, and in collaboration with, the RAIA National Convention (19, 20, 21 April 2007), in Melbourne, Australia.  It was attended by SAIA President Hassan Asmal, Vice President Al Stratford and Llewellyn van Wyk who served as the CAA president for the past term.

XXIII UIA WORLD CONGRESS OF ARCHITECTURE TORINO 2008

This year, 2008, during the 23 rd World Congress of the International Union of Architects the Architects of the world will meet in at the Lingotto Centre, 3 Via Brofferio, Torino, Italy for this global-scale event focusing on Transmitting Architecture. Participants will discuss architecture as a channel of communication and the communication of architecture itself, in all forms and all places. Three days of working sessions will be devoted to specific interpretations of the concept of Transmitting Architecture, and will be conducted by architects and international experts in a variety of fields to launch a multidisciplinary debate.
