The 37th Sophia Gray Memorial Lecture & Exhibition and SAIA National Convention 2026, themed “Spatial Reset,” brought together architects, academics, industry leaders, government and communities in Bloemfontein for a collective exploration of South Africa’s spatial future. Through critical conversations, international perspectives, exhibitions, professional recognition and opportunities for collaboration, the programme examined how architecture can respond to inequality, transformation, climate pressures and the changing needs of our cities and communities. More than a convention, Spatial Reset created a platform to challenge established thinking, celebrate excellence and build a shared vision for a more inclusive, resilient and connected built environment.
