The Gauteng Institute for Architecture (GIfA) remembers with sadness the passing of Architect George Pieter Boorsma, in 2026.

Architect Boorsma was a valued member of both GIfA and SAIA since 2005 and was the owner of INK Architects.

His longstanding association with the Institute reflects his commitment to the architectural profession and the architectural community in Gauteng. We are grateful for his contribution and the legacy he leaves within the profession.

GIfA and SAIA extend their sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. We honour his memory and his contribution to the architectural profession. May his memory be a blessing, and may he rest in peace.
